It is fun experimenting, the samples look great. I look forward to seeing the bark collage.

Thanks All! I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Of course, I did not need to try some of the other suggestions, such as glue, or sheer fabric with stitching--which is not to say those methods wouldn’t work. I tried to use the less “invasive” methods first.

It's lovely! The stitch colours you've chosen complement the scrummy colours of the bark. The wispy wool over the bark looks like 'nature taking it back to the earth'.

Cathy, the bark collage is awesome! Did you use silk hankies to anchor the bark? The embroidery is terrific, well worth he effort in being careful!

Hello Cathy, A very creative and pretty nature collage. The stitching really enhances the piece. Great job.

very cool Cathy, it reminds me of spider webs with dew on them.

Thank you, ladies, for your nice comments. I enjoyed working with the bark and trying out different effects, like spider webs. Marilyn, I used wisps of merino wool to try and catch the bark…no silk hankies. I also tried stitching edges of the bark to the coopsworth wool but the needle split the bark. If I try this again, I will be looking for sturdier bark! Zed, a very inspiring 4th Qtr. Challenge.

Cathy, you've achieved very interesting effect. It must have been an interesting experience working with other non-fiber materials. I think I'm going to skip this challenge, I simply have no ideas but love to see what others are doing.

It's wonderful Cathy - I'm not sure why but when I saw your piece, I immediately thought "Australian Walkabout". I know that isn't what it's about but just what came to my mind. Looks like you learned a lot about adding natural inclusions to felt

Thanks, Nada and Ruth! Admittedly, this challenge gave me some moments of wonder and doubt, but I am really glad I decided to do it, and I will be looking for other opportunities to use natural inclusions with felt.
