Thanks, Judy, Ann & Marilyn! I’m thinking just add a turtleneck and some tights or leggings and instant Halloween butterfly costume. ;-))

I spent a few hours yesterday making 'bobbins' out of scrap card to put embroidery threads on and put 'spare' threads in a bag so it's easier to find what I want.

I need to do that again Zed - my threads are a mess.

I still can't work out how some people wind threads, it baffles me, my best guess is some kind of figure of 8. It makes no sense why anyone would wind thread so it's impossible to unwind a loop of it. I gave up on an expensive purple one I bought, it is just a pile of loops and knots I got a few notebook covers cut out, and the inside edges of a couple of them stitched.

I had to go to a boring (really, really boring) continuing education day yesterday. I wanted to take out my sketching stuff but thought that might be too rude. I did get some writing done on my upcoming mixed media embellishment class.

I created two landscape bases today out of mixed fibers and batts. Will post photos when they are dry!

I had to go into Town yesterday, which I only do about once a year, so I make the most of it and always go in Abakhan fabric shop. I found some silk down from £10 a metre, to £3, so got a metre of that. I got some more braiding too and magnet closures.
One of the clothes shops had cheap rails, and I always look, even if the clothes are hideous, I mentally work out how much fabric I'm getting for the price. There wasn't anything suitable for felting, but I got two dresses with nice patterns for £1 each.
I also got a nice scarf to try nuno with for £1

Oh, my goodness Zed, you only go to town "Once" a year. How do you manage that? You must live in a very remote area? You must have a local wee town to buy your groceries? I would love to see photos of your world?

I like about half a mile from the edge of the city centre, Judy! There's more people here than the whole of Montana I suffer from Migraine and ME/CFS (Chronic fatigue) so don't go out often, I mostly order stuff online and get fresh stuff when I can, but not from the city centre. It's so spread out, you have to walk miles to get to the good shops, I usually go to a shopping centre where it's all indoors

Wow, Zed. It sounds like a big city indeed. Sorry to hear that you suffer from migraines, I know many people suffer with them.. I looked up your town and found out the Beatles performed in a local theatre there and that they were restoring it.. I remember the Beatles like it was yesterday. Smile... Have a great day.....

I have been working on this piece off and on for about a week, amongst other projects, but finally finished. It’s a memory picture of the El Yunque National Rain Forest, Puerto Rico, which my family and I visited about 20 years ago. I tried to simulate the “wetness” of this tropical rain forest by using angelina fibers, but it’s not quite the look I was going after. Any suggestions out there for simulating raindrops on foliage? 13 x 17 inches IMG_0135 by catwycliff, on Flickr
