It looks like it could help people with a lot of experience already. Is this for absolute beginners or to help sculptural needlefelters perfect techniques?
As a complete novice, I'd ask... what is a 'piece of wool' and how do you fold it/double it over and 'felt as normal' ? You should probably mention that you are starting with a leg.
Step 3: 'felt your oblong shape to make toes'? How? Poking in one place?
Step 4: You should probably mention leaving one end unfelted in step 3 when you say to shape it into a sort of oblong shape. Is that the same foot in the photos or did you add coloured wool to the foot?
Sorry if it sounds picky, I do find instructions hard to follow, so prefer lots of photos and concentrate hard and I'd get quite annoyed if I'd spent ages shaping an oblong only to find out I should have left one end fluffy.

I think it's a very nice tutorial but not for beginners. That is not a bad thing. Finding tutorials that are not for beginners is not easy. It can be frustrating to have to wade through all the beginner stuff to get to the part you want to know about.

I've made a couple of changes. Shepherdess, I've put that it's intermediate level in the title and in the body of the post. Zed I had put 'Take another piece of wool and fold it in half so that it's doubled over' There isn't really any other way to explain it other than fold it in half. Re the the amount of wool you need, I can't actually give an amount or a size, as it depends on how big the mouse is, or how big or small the person wants the legs/feet to be"You may find that at first you use too much or too little, but that's something that will come right with time and practice". Also, the foot is the same in all the photos, I didn't add any coloured wool to it. Maybe the lighting? But hopefully the other changes will have improved it. Thank you for your comments

I read it after the changes and it reads very well along with the pics. I love your sense of humor which makes it fun. Nice job Catherine!

The way you've made the feet is wonderful and I think you're a natural tutorial writer!

Well you do say it's for Intermediate Level, and I'd say it's fine for that level. I'm not a needlefelter, but I think I could follow this. My fingers however, would say "NO" don't go there. It's a good idea to get a 3rd party to test it out. Lovely little mouse though!

I like to send my beginner tutorials to someone who doesn't felt to see if it makes sence to them.

Would you mind if we linked to it from our blog? We have a place for tutorials but we don't have many needle felting ones.

As a novice, I just wouldn't know what constitutes a 'piece of wool', but if it's for intermediates, it's probably something they automatically know

I like the tutorial, and I did needle-felt figures when I first started, but I agree with others that the tutorial is for intermediate needle-felters. I am sure there are those who would love to learn more detailed needle-felting techniques, and for them your tutorial would be terrific. And then I have to ask, do you plan to create tutorials for the complete mouse?

Thank you all for your very useful comments it was a great help! Cathy, I wanted to write some sort of tutorial for my blog, but without much time, I thought as people find the legs and feet tricky to do, I thought it would be a good post to write, and I was working on an order at the time, so I just did it as I was doing a leg and a foot lol. I was planning to do more in bits and pieces, but then Lyn (Rosiepink) sent me a message and suggested I do a tutorial for a complete mouse and sell it, which I think is a brilliant idea - Thank you Lyn! So I'm going to do that when I can.

Making a full tutorial is a major undertaking, but I wish you the best in your endeavor!
