I'm sooooo excited! Been contemplating joining Fiona Duthie's Autumn 'surface design' online classes, but I'm practical & like usable outcomes rather than theoretic & samples. So today I discovered she is doing a felted bags online class in the autumn. I've registered - anyone else from here joining?

I see she is on Salt Spring Island. Acouple of years ago I bought a hat from a guy from there, he was called "Funk". It's a great hat, I love it, even though I don't have a 'hat face'! Enjoy your course. I just want to go to Salt Spring Island and do the course there!! If only!  |

I did the surface design and it was great. You will learn much more doing that class unless you are concentrating on handbags. The surface design can be used in anything. Many people didn't do samples but used the techniques in scarves, dresses,vases, wall hangings, etc.

That's great, jwugg! I'm also doing the surface design class this go round, thanks in part to Marilyn for posting all the wonderful bits she shared about her experience.
And then in October, I'm heading to Lisa Klakulak's home studio for 3 days to take her Sculpting Hollow Form class. (!!!!!!!!)
My head will most likely explode with wooly goodness shortly thereafter.

I also took the Surface Design Class (along with Marilyn) from Fiona Duthie and thoroughly enjoyed the many new techniques we learned. She offers so much in her on-line class at such a reasonable price, although it would have been nice in person as well.
Shana, I wanted to sign up also for the Lisa K class at her home studio, but October class conflicts with my planned vacation, so I'm on her list for early 2015 classes. I am very impressed with her work!
