Wonderful cityscape, Cathy. That was a lot of work with all the stitching, wasn't it?
As for my daily dose of fibre I made some felt balls this morning to make a key chain. Then I tested some new fabrics that I bought cheap - wanted to see how they felt. These were mostly mixtures of viscose, silk and cotton. They will wait for a while till I get proper inspiration. My box with fabrics is full now - I cannot close it, but I cannot resist temptation and keepy buying stuff.

Thanks, Nada, it was a big effort, especially when the needle kept getting stuck in the felt. Do you wet-felt or needle-felt your balls? I have always needle-felted them, because that's how I started out felting, but I've heard the wet felt process is a lot easier.
I also have a weakness for fabric, especially silk and cotton. I have stacks of it, purchased when I was still a quilter! I kept telling myself--as I am sure you do--I will find a need for this some day. ;-)

Cathy, I feel like a squirrel, keep bringing stuff into my nest. es, I wet felt the balls. First I roll the wool between my palms to get the shape of the ball and then soak it in water and using soap roll against rough surface (bubble wrap is also OK) - first lightly and gradually increasing pressure. It takes only a few minutes.

Cathy - your cityscape turned out great. Sorry to hear that you had trouble with the stitching.

Thanks, Ruth! Just cannot figure why that one piece of pre-felt came me such a hard time. It was all wool, although different types.

Lyn, it probably takes less time to make a felt ball your way, but I like stabbing needles.

For my daily dose yesterday, I played with my felt circles, which are now wired and GAC-ed (see post about adding medium to felt by Shana). Today I am poking holes and stringing them up as a mobile. There are enough flat pieces and "dust collectors" (as Nada says) sitting around my house. I'll post a photo if the mobile balances!

For my daily dose yesterday, I grew frustrated with trying to balance and tie the fishing line onto brass rods for my circle mobile. The filament kept slipping off the rods, even when I tied those fancy knots. So now I have to devise a different method…any suggestions?
I am not counting that as my daily dose--instead I put away the mobile and grabbed my wet felting supplies and created an abstract seascape. And then I felt much better. It's drying and I will photograph it later.

If you know where you want them, put a blob of clear silicone on the pipe to stop it slipping past or even over the knot and onto the pipe. There is a product called GOOP, it works really well. I think you can get it in Walmart and most other chain stores too. Pretty sure you can get it in the States but I don't know about Europe.

Thanks, Ann. I will give that a try and give you full credit if it works (and I have no reason to believe it won't!)

In the fishing supply aisle, they have little spinners that can be attached to fishing line. You attach one end to the line and one end to the brass rod. Then the circles will turn. You should be able to use jump rings to put them in place on the rod and then you can move them to balance the mobile.

My daily dose is finishing the orange and pink bracelet.

Ruth, I don't know anything about fishing supplies, but I will head over to the big box store and grab those spinners and jump rings and Ann's recommended GOOP. Then I will have no excuse not to complete my mobile.
