Thanks girls for your comments. I think with silk the dress would look much better. Anyway, this was just an experimental piece.

Super idea to add wool to cotton, and I bet that wasn't easy felting. I think I more enjoy experiments than completing a project! With experiments, we can always rework them into other experiments or projects.

IMG_5758 by catwycliff, on Flickr Having been out of town for a few days to help a family member, I took along my felt city to add hand embroidery, but unfortunately, I got very little opportunity to work on it. So my "daily dose" is a mini-dose, just one building done. There's plenty of time to complete the work now at home.

Cathy, I love your city houses, they look so joyous. Do you think they need more embroidery? They look fine.

Oh, thanks, Halay. Yes, absolutely they need more embroidery…only the tall pink skyscraper on the right is embroidered. I did not have time to work on the other buildings while away. Home again and ready to add more hand stitching! BTW, the piece is 16 x 20 inches, so I've a way to go with this. Have been using mostly straight stitches with a larger sashiko needle.

Nada - the dress is wonderful even if it is just the first one. Great job on your first try.
Cathy - the buildings are very happy, look forward to seeing more stitching.

Nada the dress worked really well. I think you did a great job especially as it's your first attempt.
Cathy the city is wonderful. I like the way you used the cut outs for windows.

Thanks Ruth and Ann! This was fun to felt and shows my love for the city.

I am currently making a lot of small felt refrigerator magnets for our guild charity auction. They look like tiny works of art. I think if nothing else sells, these will. I can sit at night and watch t.v. while I make these.

For my daily dose, I hand-embroidered two additional city buildings (see above), with only one left to go! May finish tonight and, if so, will show photo tomorrow.

Still hand stitching on my exhibition piece for the last several days. I have another couple of weeks most likely before it is finished.

What kind of exhibition piece are you working on, Ruth? That's a lot of hand-stitching, but very relaxing (unless you are in a big hurry!)
