I've done a lot of blanket stitch as well but not "button hole". I need to try some.
Love your samples Zed. In the US, I think that type of fabric is called Aida.

My practicing looks pretty pathetic. Nothing I would want to show off. I am working my way through the self taught book on Crazy Quilting. This could take a really long time.
