Many "successful" people have had lots of "failures" before succeeding. It's the perseverance that counts.

Thanks, Lyn And that is a good way to look at it Yeah, that's true, Ruth. I think also what you consider a 'success' makes all the difference. There's a big difference between running your own gallery and making a profit, or making a living from selling fibres/felt artworks etc and having a self sufficient craft by making enough money to pay for your supplies. Many people selling handmade items are financially secure and can afford to take risks others in different circumstances can't.

Yes - the definition of success is always different for different people and those in different circumstances. I don't think that most successful business people would call my gallery a success. I don't make much money and I can't really support our family with it. But it has been a going concern for 15+ years and I consider it a success. No, I don't have a big fancy house and everything my little heart desires but I am happy working there and I support artists from throughout the US and Canada so that hopefully they are "successful". If nothing else, I have perseverance or perhaps it's just stubbornness??
