Hi Everyone,
Just checking to see if anyone wants to make the ads at the top and the bottom of the page go away and be replaced by a simple banner ad from one of our members. The banner ad would be about the same size as the current advertising and Zed can help you design it if you need assistance on sizing etc. It only costs $7 for 50,000 page views per month.
If you're interested, let us know. Each month, we could have a different member be the "sponsor" of the forum if we have enough interest. We wanted to give you all an opportunity if you wanted to be a sponsor first and then we'll fill in the remaining months.

Just to clarify, the banner will be at the top and bottom and be clickable to whatever site you'd like it to go to.

I've done a mock up to show how it would look with a banner ad. It's quite easy to shrink or adapt a blog or etsy banner or use a flickr avatar and add the user name. If you'd prefer to do your own, that's fine. It has to be 730 pixels wide, and 92 pixels high, 300 resolution.

Did it fix itself or did someone do it for me?

I'm happy to participate, too.
I wonder if it is also worth approaching some of the fibre websites as we may be unlikely to sell our finished felty wares to each other, but might buy fibre etc, making it a good source for advertising for vendors.
(I'm thinking of WoW, etc., but maybe also independent farms)

That's a good idea Gina. I wasn't really thinking we were selling to each other but we were just supporting the forum and keeping ugly ads away

I actually emailed WoW the other day, I don't have anything to promote, so I explained what we were doing and asked for permission to use their logo when it was my 'turn'. I didn't hear back yet, though.
I'm really against promoting Wingham, by the way, they have a rotten attitude.

I had stayed out of this conversation because I don't have anything to advertise either, but I would definitely be interested in supporting this forum in some way. Maybe I could advertise this forum!
