I definitely need to study the method more, then... I can't wait to get new wool so I can start experimenting with colours of my own!

Quick question about dyeing wool with acid dyes: I just started dyeing today with acid dyes, and I am worried that the colors could leak from the plastic wrap. Is there any reason NOT to use plastic bags which can be tightly secured? Just wondering as my dyes are steaming in the pot!

Plastic bags work fine.

Thanks, Ruth! Trying the second batch in plastic ziploc bags. Colors are beautiful in first batch.

The only reason I don't, is because they stick to the sides of my steamer, so I use cling film instead.

I think it depends on the weight of the plastic bags you use. Mine are heavy duty zip lock, and they did not stick to the steamer sides when I used them yesterday. I liked being able to contain the drips!

I'll have to try that. I always use the plastic wrap and yes it drips. I'll have a chance this week on the pencil roving and silk.
