About a month ago, I got a call from the main newspaper in town. They asked me if I would send them a bio and some interesting facts about myself, as I am going to be one of 4 featured artists in their weekend section. This is in regard to my exhibits at the Springfield National Airport that remain all summer. I have 8 pieces in all on display.
My experience with news interviews is that you send them paragraphs and they print one line. Yeah, so I just put down as much as I could think of after the bio. That was last month. I got the paper today and wow. They had one of my fiber arts pictured and printed the whole interview. I immediately copied it off and put it on Facebook for my family to see. (just a little shameless self promotion) This really encouraged me. I am getting calls from friends. I am almost famous.

Journalists and trustworthy are not two words that normally go together.
So that's a refreshing piece of news and there's nothing wrong with a little self-promotion!
