Lyn, that's a great view, certainly worthy of capturing in mixed media. :-) I hope you got to relax just looking at the gorgeous view. i will certainly give the mixed media a try. Thanks for the encouragement.

Lyn are we supposed to feel sorry for you? I will think something up. I have a walking stick I have been wanting to do some felt on so maybe I will do that. I had better get a move on it right after this show.

Marilyn - views like that are priceless for the good they do us, and you only need a few hours to feel as if you've had a 'proper' holiday.
Ann - the walking stick idea sounds fun! You can feel sorry for me now. I shouldn't have crowed so loudly - it's raining today and the forecast is a bit grim for a few days hence. I live in a suburb of a city and when it rains everything has a grey look.

Love your picture Lyn, the choppy sea and the boat whizzing along, great! I also like the view from your seat!

Wow, that's a great collaboration, Lyn! I love the photo too, it reminds me of a place on the Wirral, just past West Kirby looking over to Wales.

Does my mural count as Mixed Media? ha ha. How about learning how to text on a cell phone? Yeah, I never text before. How about learning how to use a Smart Phone after having an old stone age model? How about finding a new home for our Senior's Art Guild? How about posting announcements for our exhibits on Facebook pages? Ok, I need to calm down now and work on a really mixed media piece and squeeze it in with my Art Museum tours, and a sleep study to see if I have sleep Apnea. I am also taking a 2 day drawing workshop this month. I know that I said I was going to slow down. What happened?

I feel sloth-like when I read what you get up to Judy!

I decided to put every other thought out of my head this morning. The rest of my week is full. But I got up extra early and started on the Mixed Media. This comes pretty easy to me. I don't always make a masterpiece, but I like just working improvisationally now and then. Rip, tear, paint glue: don't plan it all out, like I usually do. Just get it on the surface. So, now I am slowing down to give it some thought and will probably get most of it done by tonight. Ha ha. I will show this one to my friends only. Not to the quilters. They would be horrified. This is Abstracted Insanity Day.

I may do a bit of that for mine tomorrow Judy. I have a full week ahead too. I must make many pies to sell at the market this weekend. I need a day of not thinking (much) and just doing for fun and not to sell.

I almost started my challange project today but couldn't find my walking stick. The horrible result is that I have been cleaning instead. No one of the street would think so but it is getting a little cleaner as I go. Maybe tomorrow.

It is a sad state of affairs Ruth. I still haven't found my walking stick. It isn't fancy. It is just a 2x2 that the end was milled and sanded. I may have to wait for the fair and see if one of the old iron guys will mill one for me.
