Strongly agree Ruth! We all have our favourite ways of doing things. I like to gently rub onthe silkside with gentle finger tips, then progress to Ann's favourite "Tupperware" star shaped top. Or... do the quick and cool tumble dryer thing. As we say here in UK "there's more way than one to skin a cat"!!! I have never skinned a cat in my life, nor do I wish to, but I did watch my great aunt skinning a rabbit when I was very young and I never wanted to do it myself!! ::)In fact I have never knowingly eaten rabbit since. I think it was to do with the little droppings , just ready to drop!! Sorry if I offend!

Zed, Thanks. I just looked at your Youtube vids and your Flickr Photos. I'm going to give your dowel idea a try. The pool noodle is big for my hands. Regarding Lyn's site, I've been all over it. It was actually her/their posts on a UK craft forum about their felt pods that got me interested. Shepherdess, What are "user fiber reactive dyes" and where would I find them? Is it on Dharma's web site?

You're welcome, Billie I totally agree with Ruth and Judith, try different things and find something that suits you. Dyes are really cheap and it's fun to do, we have a few tutorials on the studio site for dyeing feltingandfiberstudio.com/tutorials/dyeing/You can do small amounts at a time.

Ruth, I grew up on a farm. Never had to skin anything but did a lot of plucking. Zed, thanks for the link. I'm off to look. OMG, it must be a sign to go felt. Doorbell just rang and I've got a delivery from New England Felting!

I love to see how people do things. There is always something new to learn and try.

It's funny what I saw in 'related' when I uploaded videos to youtube, how differently people go about the same thing. Have fun Billie
