I hear that some parts of England got 40 cm of snow. you must have made some Norse god very angry. You have been really pounded this year. I hope you are all safe and snug indoors. Ann

Oh to be in England, now that April's (almost) there ~ Browning
I've been watching the news from my safe and only slightly soggy part of the country. The north does have a lot of snow and the south-west is flooded.
There are many times I'm thankful that I live in central south England because we avoid nearly all the extreme weather.

I live in a dip here, we rarely get the snow sticking like it does in other parts even if it snows a lot. There was a lot last night, and it did stick for a while. It's mostly been windy here, around 40mph. It's cold again though.

Ah... the joys of spring. It got down to 19F last night with a skiff of snow. My daffodils are sad - they haven't bloomed yet but they were trying.

All round to Judith's with shovels!
The drifts that the winds have caused are amazing! It is still windy here today, but the snow has stopped.

Annie has obviously arranged some proper weather for her visit. It's stopped snowing and there is a strange light in the sky, anyone know what it is???
Snow beginning to thaw, so now there will probably be more flooding. Glad we live on high ground.

Talk about crazy weather. Our area is getting tornadoes and snow storms. The middle of the USA is known for our tornadoes, but we don't usually have them with snow.

We had lightning with snow a few weeks ago, that was a great weather day. The wind here is starting to drop now, it's been about 25mph gusting to 40+ all week.

I saw the storms in the states on the news this morning. So many states are under snowfall warnings.

We still have 30-40 cms of solid snow, very gradually melting! I can't wait to see something green but will probably be another month. We are heading to our cabin for Easter, ice fishing and skiing on the frozen lake, the first sauna of the year at the cabin and of course the easter egg hunt, tricky in deep snow. My dear husband bought me some snowshoes to get around - should be fun!!

Ours is going well. Not to fast so it has a chance to soak in and not all run off the top.

I spoke too soon, it was really windy again yesterday and snowed when I went out. This is pretty much unheard of here, 15-20 foot drifts, some days/nights it came down so hard and fast cars literally were snowed under in minutes. The mad wind has made the weirdest drifts.

wind can do some strange things with snow and it can really pack it in. the building my studio is in is just the wrong directing. the wind blows the snow down its length and dumps it right in front of the door. It often gets completely covered.
