A start of another week This will be the test starting this week to see if I can get a dose of fiber while traveling and blog about it. I am off to the Buyers Market of American Craft on Thursday to go shopping for the store. Then when I get back, I am home for two days and then I'm off to my last Level 2 stitch class. So I will be busy, busy. Today I am working on stitching a Valentine's Day card and I did get a piece of felt done yesterday for another applique using the remaining negative cut out from my blue/red felt applique. I'll show a photo soon. What are you up to this week?

Sounds like you will have a real challenge to get your daily dose with all the traveling. I am FINALLY finished with "Snickers." I will have the picture on my blog soon and let you know. I am really happy with the results. I have finished every project and can now concentrate on my paint drying project of canvas number 22. It has been too cold to use the painting studio anyway. I am also organizing and making illustrations for my upcoming landscape class in March.

I actually did something today, not much though, just a shrinkage sample of merino on scrim. It's a start.

I spent most of today taking care of errands and renewing my driver license. But, I did take time to use my 40% at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics. I picked up a few elements for my steampunk project. However, I am trying not to buy things, but to recycle or use things from my stash. Maybe look around at the flea market.

Strange I commented on this yesterday I thought. the is a post about the boots on the blog. I put it up yesterday. the basic boot is felted but there is still work to do before they are finished.
Ruth just remember to fondle lots of textiles at the market so you get your daily dose. Judith samples are fiber and in important part of the process Can't wait to see what the 2 of you will get up to Lyn

That's really nice Karen. What did you use to make it look so textured?

Looks like Karen has found a new love. Oil painters have to work in layers unless we are knife painters. Then we can just slap it on and have a good time.
Today I went to my Senior's Art Guild where I am V.P. Sometimes it gets to be a real challenge. Like herding deaf cats. I also made a copy of an "out of print" vest pattern for a friend. So, I guess I put in my daily dose.

I completely cleared every project from my studio table and am now concentrating totally on my upcoming Strip Landscape class. This will be a simple, photo interpretation (not copy) exercise. I will be showing the students many photos and we will be discussing how to get the maximum distance in your space. Then we will discuss focal points and focal elements ( if needed) I need to make some small samples of vertical presentation compared to horizontal presentation. Contrast from dark to light or light to dark. Proportion and scale. This will really keep me busy. Doing this in fiber is very different from painting. Actual texture can help or take away from your composition. So, now you know what ticks in my head. lol
