I love spinning flax and hemp. I will also card flax or hemp tow (the short fibers from the hackeling process) into my wool for a "linsey woolsey" preparation. Anyone else here use flax and hemp in their work?

I've used the combed fibre as an embellishment in felting but neve had any mixed fibre to try. Spinning it is on my list of things to do too.

I have used it as an embellishment. Mixed in might give a nice texture.

I’ve also used it as an embellishment. It would be nice to know how it felts alone.

Like Marilyn, I’d be interested in knowing how the blended carded wool/flax hemp felts in its own.
Now that I,ve just written this I’m having an 'ah ha' moment....hasn't Zed done it in her detailed book 'the right Fibre'? Unfortunately I can't access it at the moment as it is in pdf format and stored on my other computer....oh I do prefer paper books that sit on a shelf, then I could have easily replied with the answer.

I am very interested to see this if you get a chance! I am thinking of wet felting a blend of wool and flax to make "roots" for a felt plant...

For sure I will buy a book, I hope she has managed to stay afloat. My son and my mother both have medical conditions that they are disabled for life. Government programs are extremely complicated and easy to run into trouble, and never actually provide enough support. It's awful.
