When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of sharing a shawl I made a couple of years ago using "Noro Pencil Roving". Everytime I wear it I receive many compliments on the colors. I think you were suggesting more of an art piece - I could frame it but I love wearing it too much.
The colors are different looking when photographing in sunlight or inside with a flash in natural sunlight inside with flash inside with flash

Great Shawl Frances. It doesn't have to be an "art" piece. It can be anything. I don't blame you for not wanting to frame it.

Your shawl is a beautiful 'colourscape' Frances! I like the lace effect you achieved by using the noro pencil roving and I can see why you get many compliments.

It's a pretty colourscape Jifke! Whatever you decide to do with it, either as a placemat or on a bag, it will be admired.

Thank you Pamster. 'World of Wool' and 'Wingham Wool' had a lot to do with the brightness - they have some fantastic colours!

I decided to combine my need to produce some sale-able smaller items for the gallery shop with the 4th quarter challenge so have made 'colourscape' notebook / journal covers. (Apologies for the Facebook links, I tried to add the photos on Ipernity but it doesn't seem to like me any more and won't let me upload anything) This second link shows the whole journals (not just the front). They are made around a resist so the felt is one piece, not stitched. the main drawback of this is that I fit them snugly in the final stages of fulling (ie.when wet) so I have sacrificed one notebook to act as the model as the pages don't like getting soggy.
