i was intrigued with the air plants Lindsay Wilkerson used in her felt. I ordered some on Amazon and have them in a terrarium in my bedroom. Much to my surprise a few days ago I noticed the leaves turned pink and a purple flower was sprouting on one of them. You can see the three day progression. www.dropbox.com/sh/gvhhltcsy6s7jb9/AACNB7QCuVFQ9UC40xtQsVb2a?dl=0

It was pretty. Today it started to wilt. But now I think there may be babies coming soon.

You are obviously doing something right to have your airplanes flower and produce babies!

We have some at the store and they bloomed too. Look just like yours.

They are really low maintenance. Just soak them for a half hour once a week in filtered or rain water. I did learn when they flower not to immerse the flower like normal. It was a very pleasant surprise.

I’m glad you’re enjoying them, Marilyn. A small word of warning - some of them die after they’ve flowered though I understand they may send off shoots beforehand. Fingers crossed yours will go from strength to strength.
