Hello! I'm new š I absolutely love the seascapes you've all shared. Really inspiring. I started wet felting earlier this year and was instantly hooked! I'm now doing a course in it. Here's a seascape I did for a local art competition a few weeks ago, celebrating our local Pier's 150th Birthday (Clevedon Pier). It had to emphasize community. http://instagram.com/p/Bx3DzNFgW4j

It's beautiful! Love the way you've done the water and overall it's such a 'happy' piece - well deserved win!
We'd love to know how you're getting on in your course and what you're doing.

Thanks for your replies. I didn't realise the photo would show up in the thread - I hope it doesn't affect the storage limit! The course I'm doing is online by school of stitched textiles and accredited by city and guild.... I just wanted to learn more and get some focus, which it's certainly doing! Only on module one so far which is covering the basics. So glad I found this group.

Maryfait, don't worry. As long as the photo is stored somewhere else, you can share it here through a link or through the methods shown in the FAQ section. It only takes up storage space if you directly upload it to here from your computer. Your course sounds wonderful. I'd love to see some of what you're doing in your class.

Great piece. I love the fishing rods over the side of the pier. A very cheery piece that has a committee feel. we love to see what people are up to and watch as they progress. Felting is so much fun and so versatile.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BzYlqirFN4_ Iāve just finished two seascapes so I thought Iād post photos here. First is called āBlue Green Seaā and is wet felted with merino wool and silk hankies. Second is āRinged Plover 2, the Oaze, Seasalterā based on a bird I watched on a gravel spit just along the coast from my home. I made the background in two sections (nuno felted recycled loose weave wool scarf for the sea, bits and pieces of new and scrap felt and prefelt for the gravel). Separately wet felted the bird then needle felted them all together, adding some finer detail to the ringed plover. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzYnCgqlqWi

They are both beautiful! The silk hankies make great wave tops and the colours in the sea are so true. The bird picture is a lovely combination of different techniques, and you've made his face perfectly. Neither of them will hang around long before being snapped up.
