I was prompted by Ruth's blog showing her lovely heart cards to post some photos of some small pieces I've been beading over the past couple of weeks. I loosely wet felted pieces of silk cut from 2 charity shop scarves - clearly hand dyed but not by me. Most have one or more circles of hard felt underneath to create the relief. I've then added meandering beads wherever the silk pattern led me. I have quite a lot more blue ones that I haven't beaded yet. I was thinking of making them into cards (they're photographed on a square white card but not stuck down yet) but they have taken quite a long time. Do I 1. make them into cards and under-charge for them on the grounds that I've enjoyed stitching away in the evening and it's better to sell them than not? 2. make them into cards and price them higher than usual in the expectation that they might sell and if they don't I can give them to friends and family? 3. stick them onto mini white canvases and offer them for sale as mini artworks? 4. do something else?

I vote for mini artworks. You could combine some of them into diptychs or triptychs. They are wonderful!!

I agree - mini artworks!
Or perhaps one piece of art? Attach them all to one canvas in a grid pattern - that can look very effective if you get the colours in the right places on the canvas.

How about the best of both worlds. Photograph them and print them onto cards and then charge more for the originals either as cards or as mini art pieces.

Mini art works or try Lyn’s idea. They are gorgeous.

I'm with the others on this....take photos to create prints for cards, then definitely use the originals as mini artworks or collectively as a grid art work.

I ended up making individual mini artworks by sewing them onto small white square canvases. I sold three of them in my last exhibition so thanks to everyone for their advice.
