Record breaking winds that would blow anything away. Today better. Just cold.

Hi folks. I'm jealous of everyone's activities.
My daily doses (when I finally flop down on the sofa or into bed) have been via Pinterest, imagining my various completed works of art.
Daily life of never ending chores, absent EPH (ever patient husband), messy EPH on his return, dog, broken toilet cisterns (one with us, one with my mother), burst pipes, plumber visits (we can single handedly employ him for a week!), dead car, unexpected appointments etc etc, (all before the next train of mishaps/events arrives) all seem to get in the way of a gal enjoying herself. I'm sure I have many sympathisers with experience here - t-shirt and tattoo included!
That said I have also been trying to make sense of (read this as re-acquaint myself with) every craft stash I have squirrelled throughout the house, but to complete job A needs work on B, C, D etc, (which also includes boxes that my daughter can't fit in her flat - 'mum you have more space than me') so it is 3 steps forward and 2 back. Then my brain/memory plays tricks on me....2 days ago I found various embroidery yarns, some shell bead necklaces (which I stripped) and loose sequins (which I carefully bagged) I put each in their appropriate place - the yarns are now all together in one place neatly labelled in boxes, beads with others in one of my many bead boxes and the sequins 'away' (make a note of this!)
Yesterday I found some more loose sequins....'l'll just put them together with the others'....!?!!? I've hunted in every box, nook and cranny, but can I find those pesky sequins?
My self-imposed 'I’m not starting another project until....' seems to be still a distant dream.....ooooh, so many works of art.

I relate with your life of never ending chores and responsibilities - I too struggle with them - a lot of which aren't even mine but somehow they've landed in my lap! It's ironic that when I was younger and had more energy I had less chores and responsibilities than I do now when I'm older and lacking in daylong energy!

I can definitely can relate. I just don’t have the energy or stamina and I’m constantly cold. And all those projects it’s overwhelming. I need to put my studio back together and that will require a lot of work. Sigh. This is the first winter we haven’t traveled somewhere warm. Not our first choice but because of health issues. I love seeing everyone’s work. It’s inspiring. I hope when the weather gets better I will, too.

Thank goodness for the forum! It's a place we can all come to visit like-minded people, then leave with a smile.

Yippeee I can report two things... 1. My brain/memory hasn’t failed totally (my eyesight must have though!) 2. Those pesky sequins have been found (where I first looked - of course) and are now nestling with the others.
Thank you to my understanding forum pals....I had thought I was being relatively light hearted but I seem to have highlighted a widely felt serious issue!
So my creative endeavour today....after the plumber had repaired a burst outdoor pipe, I lagged the pipe with insulation taking great pride in cutting different 45 degree angles to accommodate the various twists and turns....sadly I can't put it on a pedestal for you all to admire, although I did smile when I thought of how we could all embellish it. What have I achieved? A job well done, practice of my cutting skills and a challenge to my brain! Practice maybe for novel felt installation?

I'm sure that felt would have insulated your pipes very well Antje! That sounds like a fun felt installation.

It does sound nice weather. We seem to have passed the -40s now but its is still cold and damp outside. We had an above freezing day with rain and that just made everything icy the next day. We had that nasty wind too. It was scary.
I agree we seem to gather responsibilities weather we want to or not. I did say to my husband once how did we ended up being the responsible ones.
Thank heavens for the forum , the blog( I have no idea what I will post about next) and felting.

I totally relate too, Antje! I was just saying last night how I'm constantly trying to 'catch up' with things, and it seems overwhelming at times, because as I start to clear a backlog, more is being added. Definitely 3 steps forward 2 back! I need a week out of life to just get on top of things, and finally be creative We had some gorgeous weather recently, Ann, it was 23C here one day! Of course it was the week when I'd been up really late/got up late so missed most of it!

Where's the sun gone now Zed?
We had to batten down the hatches and wring ourselves out today!

Ha ha, same here, Lyn ... gusts of 50mph, I had to ride to the shop in it, took forever! And 3C, my fingers were frozen. Luckily the rain had stopped briefly then.

It's only 27 C today, yesterday was 39 C, but the worst is the smoke and the horrible sun-shining-through-smoke yellow coloured sky from bush-fires 45km to the north of us.

Rubbish weather all round then! What makes it worse for me is having a few beautiful, warm, spring days recently (I sat in the garden with my afternoon cuppas) then going back to the usual weather for this time of year.
