Only Brits would go to the beach in the cold. Brr.

Standing in the cold always makes me shiver even with layers. I am working on slow stitching.
Lindsay, your button tree is really cute.

I’m a Brit who also loves the beach in winter. But then again - it was 10 degrees C today: not exactly cold by Canadian standards Ann!

Beaches are meant for the hot weather. Winter beach means in Hawaii!

That would be nice but I don't think our bus routes go that far!

I delivered soap and laundry balls today. Monday I worked on my Holiday card. I think it just needs its post card backing now.

Today I’m going to the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate - the northern sister of the London show that Leonor wrote an excellent post from a few weeks ago. I’m already having firm words with myself about budget and space while simultaneously making sure I have lots of bags - some mixed messages there, Lindsay.
Feeling excited.

My fiber dosage lately has been making Christmas tree and package ornaments for a local craft fair. Our church's Creative group was invited by a smaller one to participate in it's first ever craft fair. I thought I'd do it since it seemed low-stress and would be a new 'audience' for my scarves. OUr church's craft fair is in June, a bad time to try selling wooly items.
This is what I've been busy making: The two thngs in the middle are ribbon angels. The others are decorated balls for the tree. And these: There's another angel in the back left. The others are flat decorations that can be used for packages and/or hung on the tree I made a bunch of those in non-Christmas colors, too.
The fair was a complete bust! We were outside in the parking lot of a nice shopping center.. The day was nice and sunny, which we've not had much of in Dallas this fall. However, it was WINDY!!. Several canopies turned over and one booth with fused glass fell. We had to weight the items down and I could only shove the ornaments in a box with a sign. I had some scarves, bracelets, and the usual cat toys and soap. All I sold was cat toys and soap. And not that much of either. It seemed like the only people there were the other church members. The sad thing was that no one even LOOKED at the ornaments. It definitely was not the price since they were cheaper than the soap.
At least one consolation is that I can give the ornaments to the charity I work for as a fundraiser this week. And I have lots of gifts on hand for this season.

Oh Elizabeth, I do feel so sorry for the seller of the fused glass! It's a shame when you work towards the one day and it turns out like that. At least the charity will benefit from your lovely makes.

Sounds like the wind made the day a near disaster and a true disaster for the glass booth. Too bad that you didn't sell your ornaments. I have never found church craft fairs to work out too well. My mom used to help with one and they made nice stuff that they sold for pennies and still didn't sell much. Glad you can donate the ornaments to a worthy cause.
