They look great Tracy. I hope you had a good show.

Thanks Ann.
The wool show that I went to on Friday was ok. It is considerably smaller than Woolfest so I did it in an hour! However I took a lot of pictures to blog about it here.
The craft fair I did on Saturday was quite quiet, at one point the organizer asked if someone had shut the door!, but I still limped my way to a respectable figure so happy days. I did not sell the A5 and A6 patchwork notebooks, but I sold another A5 and A6 so - great!

An hour ?!? That must be a fibre-show record!

I try to tell myself, it’s not that the things I make aren’t good, it’s just that the right people for them aren’t here today. Glad you limped home though.

Nice notebook covers Tracey.
Many of my old or failed felt projects end up as dryer ball guts.
Lindsay, you are right, I have sometimes despaired of a hat or scarf ever selling and then someone shows up and just can't live without it.

An hour ?!? That must be a fibre-show record! Yes it is really quite small Lyn, and of course there are the stalls that you have no interest in. At Woolfest my friend and I always start with a the smallest section of the show and that always takes us an hour to do, then we have the huge main area to dive into, bliss!
In fact I may think twice about going to it next year as it was £8 to get in, and around 50 stalls were listed. Woolfest is £10 entrance fee and there are 150 plus stalls, craft demos, livestock demos etc. No real comparison.

Tracey I’m thinking of going to Woolfest with a friend next year. It’s a bit of a trek from Kent so I’d stay for a day or two. Is it worth doing 2 days at Woolfest or would that be over-kill?

Lindsay yes please go, you will love it.
I personally would say one FULL day is fine even for me. We arrive for the opening 10.00, they even had a countdown this year ha ha. We stroll around for two or three hours, buying stuff on the way. Then we go and have some lunch and come back in and resume the rest. The time really does slip away, and before you know it, closing time looms. I would say in no way are we rushing around, but towards the end of the day you may want to skip stalls that really do not interest you to save time for ones you do. You could keep a note of any stalls you wanted to go back to.
We always go on the Friday so I could not vouch for how busier Saturday is.
So in answer to your question, I guess it depends on your stamina maybe! I never feel I wish I could go again the next day. However I understand because of your travelling, you may want to turn it into a more leisurely experience, but staying over another day eats into your spending kitty!
Anything else, please ask.

Thank you, Tracey, for your advice. Sounds like one day will be fabulous and we can do something else for any other time we’re in the area.

Are we all ready for the collective groan.....? I am starting my Christmas cards this afternoon!!! Ann, our very wise craft fair organizer says to start them, so that's good enough for me

Actually Tracey, it is a good idea to get started early on Christmas items. Then you'll be stocked up and ready for shows when people are in the Christmas buying mode. I hardly ever manage to do it though.

Yes Ruth, I can see it now, a whole section of my card stand devoted to CHRISTMAS! I'll have them queuing out of the door......
In all seriousness, I was thinking of keeping a count of how many Christmas cards I make and sell, just for my own info.

Always a good idea to track inventory categories!
