This is silk noil that I dyed. It is wonderful for adding a bit of shine to the surface of felt. It can be spread out and laid thinly over wool and then wet felted.

Ooh, I like those colours. I love silk noil, I have some blue and teal that I bought and some yellow and red I dyed myself.

Looks stunning. I have used wool noil but not silk noil. I must look up about how they make silk and at what stages these bits come from.

That'd be really interesting to read about. It seems a lot of the silk stuff we use in felting is a waste product of some sort. Silk noil is always classed as a rough/waste product, but I love it. I love the smell and the noise when it separates

World of Wool sell it too, it's the same price as tops but folded into a brick, I don't get why though
