Does anyone use a light box for taking photos? I look at them on line but they always seem so small. I need to be able to take a picture of a hat on a stand or Styrofoam head.

There are lots of homemade light box ideas on the internet - here's one and the size is determined by the cardboard box you use so you could go large! how to make a light box

I was once a passionated macro-photographer and used a big plastic box as my lightbox. Put the item in the box, natural light from behind and sideways and a flash or other lightsource in front!

I always wanted one of those backdrops that is graduated. Like this: www.amazon.com/Flotone-31x43-Graduated-Background-Thunder/dp/B00111LK4MI tried a box but still didn't think it worked all that well. With the backdrop, you don't need a box, just need to let it drop down from the wall to a table and place your object in front of it. I still haven't gotten one though. Not sure why.

I use White Paper Poster Roll (76 mm wide from Amazon or any stationery shop) as a backdrop. I think even the back side of plain wallpaper will do.

Good idea Galina! That would certainly be less expensive for sure.
