Probably one for our Canadian members:
I’m coming on vacation to Montreal & Quebec City this month and wondered if there were any paricular fibre related shops or exhibitions that people who know the area would recommend. Specifically in terms of shops I’d like to buy a couple of small bits of equipment that we have to import into the UK (palm sander, one if those squidgy ball things for sprinkling hot water) plus I’m always up for a hank of hand dyed multi shade tops / roving. Exhibitions / events / galleries / museums re felting or local textiles would also be great.

A squidgy ball thing - a ball brauser / felters ball sprinkler / felters bulb spray. They get called all of these things. Also available from wingham wool and Adelaide Walker

Thanks Tracey & Rovingone. It’s interesting how different the squidgy thing prices are in the links you’ve provided - from £6 to £16 and all + postage. I thought it might be cheaper to buy in person but actually I suspect not given the Wingham Wools price, even with postage.

Do your alliexpress in the UK. I order all sorts form them for much less. I know the cheaper ones available here come from their. they are usually pail blue or pink. the dark blue, green and terracotta ones seem to be better quality. They used to al come from a guy in Germany called Bonsai Bob. they are originally for watering bonsai.

the dark blue, green and terracotta ones seem to be better quality. I have just remembered that one of the felters in my local group said something about them being made of different materials. I think she said the better quality ones are from a rubber material and the more brightly coloured ones made from plastic. Certainly her verdict was that the brightly coloured (cheaper) ones are more difficult to squeeze.

Thank you - very helpful. I will see if I can track some down & give them a trial squeeze!
