I have read through most of the dying info, and maybe I have missed it.
I have seen no mention of dye fixatives such as Retayne or synthantropol.
Is this because their use is not recommended?

I have used retayne on cellulose fibers but not wool. The best info I can give you is to got to Paula Burch's site. she explains what all the auxiliaries are and what they do. Its a great site with a ton of info explained much better than I would ever manage. www.pburch.net/dyeing.shtml

I use Synthrapol when rinsing cotton fabrics dyed with fiber reactive dyes but don't used it when I dye wool. Mainly because I don't want to have to rinse it out again. The wool has a tendency to felt the more you mess with it and the less handling it gets the better it seems to me.

Thanks for the help!
The instructions form Dhara Trading say to use the Retayne after dying. I had dyed a black silk scarf and black dye was still coming out after many rinsings. I used a bath of Retayne, and lot of dye came out. After that a couple of rinsings and it came clear.
