Hi, I just started needle felting last week. It is something I looked into years ago but then forgot about. I've gotten some supplies and I think I may be hooked now. I also am interested in a little wet felting and possibly making felted soap(I never heard of it before). I've only made three little things so far, first was a cat toy mouse. The cats love it and bat it around everywhere. Then a duck and a penguin. I want to do animal sculptures mostly, maybe some flowers too. Who knows though, I may get into other things. I didn't realize there were so many things you can do with felting. I'm in the USA and it doesn't seem there is a whole lot of felters here, but I really want to learn all I can. I've been spending time reading these forums, this place seems to have the most info and still be active. Most places I've come across seem dead now. I'm really glad I found this place, I'm excited to learn more.

Welcome, I started with needle felting and end up with wet felting but some people do it the other way round. I think if you use the search the was a really good thread about felting soap. Ask away on any thread , it doesn't matter if it's an old one. It's a very friendly group here.

Welcome Anna! There are plenty of us here from the USA. I’m not a needle felter but I use it to embellish felted pieces. Enjoy your creative journey!
Where are located?

I'm in PA, outside of Philly. I'd love to post pictures of my little critters I just need to get my camera up and working. They aren't great, but honestly not too bad either. I'm waiting on more wool in the mail, I used up the little bit I started with.

Your cats actually play with a toy you made them? Wow. Mine just push all my tools off on the floor then look at me like "That was fun. Now put it back so I can do that again". Cats! :-)

I have three cats, the two girls play with EVERYTHING. The one has taken a big interest in my roving. The boy likes to pull all my things off the table. He is too good for toys. Of course my dog also likes the little cat toys. She is a Great Dane, but luckily very gentle with the toys. She just leaves them slobbery but intact.
