I am sure things will pick up. Also don't give up. When we ran the farmers market people would come asking for someone that only came once several weeks ago. Sometimes people need to look 2 or 3 times before they buy or think they will wait until closer to an event to buy. Make sure you have lots of cards to hand out so they can find you.

When it was my last fair a couple of weekends ago it was one of the warmest days for the UK so far, so you think great, that will bring the customers out. However, quite rightly they wanted to stay out in the sunshine and eat an ice cream. I still did very well on this day whilst the others did less so. A lovely fellow stall holder, a wood turner said he was going to burn all his wood and take a felting course ha ha ! So you can never tell. Bad weather and people want to come inside, but are they out in the first place, and good weather, yes they are out and about but do they want to come in?! It's all good fun, we just have to hope for the best and smile!

we found the worst days at the farmers markets wher when it had been raining every weekend for several weeks and then was beautiful. everyone seems to spend the time gardening or cutting the grass then off thy go to enjoy the outdoors for the rest of the day.

Thank you, you’re quite right. I’m not at all pessimistic overall, just on that occasion a bit miserable about the discomfort & boredom of horrible weather and lack of people over 2 days. Even then someone did take a card and I sold an air plant hanging & 6 cards by appointment the next day. Definitely have a go with the air plants. They’re very appealing.

It's all good fun, we just have to hope for the best and smile! I agree! So we want a good forecast with an unexpected downturn that means people are outdoors but suddenly want to get in. However, bearing in mind I’m in a beach hut rather than a building it needs to be a very short unexpected shower - I’m thinking maybe frogs would do the trick?! Glad you did well at your event on that completely unexpectedly glorious hot weekend. I’m totally optimistic about the bank holiday weekend. There’s a big May Day Morris dancing gathering too so I will be able to enjoy some bells, sticks and hankies whatever else happens.
