Since we're having a serious dumping of snow (almost 15 inches so far) - I'm working on finishing a long over due needle felted rabbit. My problem is how to secure his horse tail whiskers. I threaded one horse hair onto a sewing needle and inserted it into his muzzle leaving a couple of inches of whiskers on both sides. The kit instructions say this should be secure enough, but I think the rabbit will loose his whiskers sooner than later. I tried knotting the horsetail but that really doesn't work. If I use glue I fear it would look like a globby blob of glue at the base of his whisker. What do you think? Thank you so much!

You can use a clear glue. I believe Elmer’s makes it at least here in the states. Or can you run one long strand through then put a stitch in the center to secure then cover it with more needle felting?

Good advice Marilyn. I like both ideas and will give them a try. Thank you!

I haven't tried whiskers but the idea of having the felt a bit loose, adding a small amount of glue, sticking in the whisker and then needle felting around it to tighten it down sounds like it would work.

Thank you Ruth. I certainly will give it a try but first I have to go out and shovel snow again. It just won't stop!

Still snowing today here with freezing rain. It’s never been this cold with snow this late in April. I’m with you Ruth. Pooh on the snow.

We had snow and freezing rain here all weekend too. then we got a freezing rain day of school on Monday. Crazy for April. you could put a little glue in a syringe with a needle and poke it to the middle of the bunny nose where the whisker is and squirt a little in to secure it and then ther is no glue on the outside. You can get both at a farm supply store or a pharmacy You man have to ask for the needle.
