Way to go Lindsay! Sounds like a success. Pricing is tricky but I definitely think you should raise the prices on your coasters.

How exciting to have sold a large item before you started! Well done on all your sales.

Congratulations. I will say that you need your pricing to be the same no matter where you go. Galleries etc get very upset if you undercut them at your studio or other venues.

Well so much for that. She started a new on in January so it's all different. Maybe I will just go to the stich dictionary and play. I found this dictionary that has stitches organised into families. www.embroidery.rocksea.org/reference/picture-dictionary/. I like the idea of the stitch families so I think I will use it.

The link isn't working for me.
I have been away from my crafting for a week, so I now hope to dive back in and come up with a picture for Ruth's Studio Chaos blog. Or should I really be aiming to keep my work station tidy in reality?!

Hmm not sure why it's not working for you. It worked for me. I will try adding it a different way. STITCH DICTIONARY
I hope that works.

Ann, I would love to see your stitch sampler as you go along. What fun, learning loads of new stitches. And it is easier to learn stitches in families.

I like the idea of stitch families. Sounds very cosy. Today I did a bit of repurposing (aka mopping up a failed project). I had tried out using a sort of lattice bottle protection sleeve as a resist but didn’t poke enough wool into the gaps so had ended up with, well, something else. It’s been kicking about for a while so I decided to buy some air plants and tuck one into one of the little pockets. I rather liked it and as I’d bought a batch of 6 air plants online I made up a couple of other ones as well. I think I’ll glue them onto white box canvases so they can go on a wall. www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/46560620www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/46560618www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/46560622Quite satisfying to get a useful thing out of something that was sort of in the way. I also have a photo canvas that didn’t work out and one more air plant so I might see if I can make a it or felt to marry them together.

The air plants in felt are wonderful. It looks like it was planned that way all along

The air plants in felt are wonderful. It looks like it was planned that way all along I think there’s a joke to be had there about pulling the wool over people’s eyes but I can’t quite get to it! At some point I’ll have a go at the original idea of the lattice resist but it’s nice on this occasion to have a happy accident. The air plants are loving the damp felt - I don’t want to break it to them that things won’t always be this moist.
