Hello from Cleburne Texas! One of my friends began needle felting and sent me a photo....I'm hooked even before buying any supplies! I purchased supplies asap and await receiving them, anxiously I might add. I am a colored pencil artist and sometimes I just don't feel my creative juices flowing to start a new project, so I'm hoping felting will inspire me and keep my creativity flowing. Can't wait to meet you all through this forum. I'm sure I will have loads of questions! First one being where to order supplies (yes I have ordered supplies but not sure where the best place to buy is).

Welcome to the forum. You can get good supplies at World of wool, they have great prices but are in the UK. It depends on how local you want to be. There are some stores in Texas. ther are some Weaving and spinning guilds too. Your local one may have members that sell fiber. I know there is a fiber festival somewhere in Texas but I can't remember its name or where. Someone on face book mentioned it. You r local group should know about it.

Welcome to the forum! If you're starting small with needle felting, you will want a lot of different colours in small amounts so perhaps look to Etsy (lots of American sellers) for your first supplies of wool? Here's one example: LINK TO ETSY ITEM

Welcome Linlee! Outbackfibers.com is in Colorado and sometimes sells kits. There is also paradisefibers.com but they tend to sell in quantities. I think Ann gave you good advIce to look to your local guilds. Also Lyn s advice to try Etsy for small quantities,

Hi Linlee, welcome to the forum I'd agree with World of Wool Don't even kid yourself that you'll only need a small amount of anything, buying fibre is a hobby in itself I'll trust Ann's judgment on spinning and weaving guilds too, I'm on a spinners UK facebook group and have bought small quantities of different wools on there for reasonable prices. If you don't mind washing wool you can get raw wool even cheaper than processed wool.

Here's a big Dallas WELCOME, Linlee. That's about all the help I can give you. I don't needle felt (except to fix wet felted mistakes). Fiber stores are few & far between in Texas. Mail order is your best bet. I use New England Felting, but they're going out of business. WOW is going to have a good supply for you. WHEN you get overwhelmed, please come back and ask questions!
