Does anyone know of a reliable source where I could purchase a wensleydale or teeswater fleece or part of a fleece? I've been wanting to make a scarf, shawl or small rug out of their beautiful long locks for a long time and I thought this might be the year to do it. Thank you so much!

I was just about to direct you to a Wensleydale site in the Uk until I checked where you live, hopefully someone closer to home will be able to help you first Mags.

Do you have any fiber fairs near you? Or a spinning and weaving guild? I got fleeces directly from local sheep owners but you have to keep asking different people and searching around your area to find them.

I would check the bread page to see if there is anyone near you. the last wensleydale I got one of the north western US states. I will see if I can find it. Mine wasn't that long.

Ruth, we do have a spring Shepherd’s Harvest Festival (but I don't recall seeing any of the long locks breeds, but they should be able to point my nose in the right direction) and the Minnesota Textile Center is here as well. Ann, if you do find the name of the place you got your fleece from...that would be great...otherwise no worries, I was hoping to find long locks. Thanks to all of you!

Teri Berry is advertising a wensleydale fleece on Ebay, I think - if it hasn't already gone
