I guess you get what you pay for. Beads from China are very hit and miss aren't they?. I embelished some flowers on the slippers and for as many beads I sewed on there was the same amount that would not go through the needle. Tess

Yup - I've found that too! The beads look the same, but some only slide halfway down the needle.

Yes, the holes are very inconsistent. there is a tool for reaming them out but that would be a lot of work with that many beads.

Tess, you are correct that the holes in beads made in China are very hit and miss, but are you using a beading needle? They are extremely thin and I don't have any trouble once I realize I am not using one and change.

Yes, I do not buy any beads that say made in China or India. Some of the ones from India bleed color onto your surface. In fact, I check all the new beads I buy for water bleeding. I just put a few bead into a little water and come back in an hour to see if they are color fast. If they are not, they will bleed into any glue you use too.
