I sell mine for twice that much. And they are usually not as much work as yours and don't have that fancy aperture. We all tend to start selling at really low prices so we've all been there and done that.

Good to see I am not alone on the low price thing. I know you should have confidence in your work and I do, so I will be increasing them.
Galina is a great help to me on pricing too. She saw how much I was originally going to put my soaps on for and she said no, too low, so I increased price and sold them still.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BdneFP5BnW2 Here's a monster piece I'm working on for a show that installs at the end of January. The "face" of this one is 12" across and it's just over a pound in weight of solid wool. It's all needle-felted though I'm considering a wet-felt finish... I simply don't want to work wet in this weather. Edit: Sorry about the text in the image. It's referring to an Instagram function.

I saw this one on Instagram Shana and it's hard to believe how much work that is, all needle felting. Really cool, does is have a name?

It's fantastic! There is so much to see! What a lot of work.
Would wet felting spoil it? From the photo it looks great as it is.

Think of it like an mostly opened flower bud. The wet-felting would change the surface a little bit, however it's needle-felted pretty hard so the shape won't alter all that much. It's a finish that I prefer because the needle-holes go away and the "skin" of the piece can get pretty hard/durable.

Hmmm... will have to think on that. I'm really bad with naming artwork.

Tracey, I think they need to me much more. Try to think of the time (planning making) and the skill(including the time it took you to gain that skill). You need to find the balance of price and sales. Not an easy thing. You could sell 5 at 10pounds or 10 at 3pounds. Selling 5 will make you more money.
A great looking piece. It is like a flour pod. How do you wet finish it without getting the whole thing soggy? Is it your only piece in the show or do you have others?

Beautiful art piece Shana! Good luck at the show, I’d be interested to see the difference in the surface if you decide to wet felt finish it. Personally, I’d be afraid of color bleeding on the white background.

I have learned that you never seem to be paid for the time that goes into the work, only other crafters know how long things take to create.
I will put it down to beginners nerves at not wanting to scare everyone away. I don't want to compromise on the cardstock, it looks quality to me, and unfortunately I have tried to source it cheaper online but can only find the ones I like in one of our large craft stores.
I will be assessing prices this year, the cards will be more than £3.

OMG, all needle felted? I wouldn't try wet felting this piece, it's great as it is.

Can't wait to see what you do, Shana! I can imagine it'll shrink a bit, and get a slightly different feel to it. But it looks like you've used the same kind of wool all over(?), and shouldn't get a problem with some wool felting more and faster then other areas should you decide to wet-felt. Love the shape, the colors, and your imagination and creativity! You always make fun pieces - I wanna hold it, explore it!

Good point.... this is wool I've dyed myself and I definitely don't trust it not to bleed In which case, I'm definitely done with it! Yay!
