A massage roller, what a wonderful idea! And much easier on my budget - thank you!

I bought one of those foot rollers yesterday - for 1 Euro from my village bazaar! I didn't know whether it would work, thought perhaps like a washboard to toughen up thick felt towards the end of fulling. Worth a Euro investment anyway! If I could get anywhere near my craft table I would try it out.

I’ve used them and would be interested in your experience. I still prefer my Tupperware cover.

I have seen them, but never used one. I use an old ridged tupperware top from a pitcher which has a little knob on top to hold it or a bead board. Here are some ideas and photos on Felting tips we published a while back. Ann showed her Tupperware top and my bead board it in there as well. feltingandfiberstudio.com/2014/02/12/felting-tips-from-the-forum/That's an excellent post on the blog! Thanks for pointing it out. Always good to see different ways of felting.

My palm washboards arrived and I love it. I got two and use them together.

I made myself a palm board out of a sand paper block and beads from the dollar store. I glued them on with Gorilla Glue. The block was $4 and the beads were $3. Works like a charm! I cover my piece with curtain sheers not tulle. I find I get a smoother and easier felting experience.

It's better looking than mine! Good idea to use a sanding block as a base.

That looks almost industrial - great build! This year I bought some old Tupperware jugs from eBay - felt a bit guilty just using the tops & giving the jugs to a charity shop. I also have 2 ceramic palm washboards from Dharma trading. The lids are very light, so good in the earlier stages, and the ceramic ones have a good weight to them so better for rubbing when the felt is firmer. I have 2 of each as I like to use both hands!

I like the size of this big'un because it allows me to distribute my effort and not put a lot of strain on my wonky wrists. I am haunting the thrift shops for the jug lids - no luck so far!

There are lots of second hand Tupperware jugs on eBay in the uk (the lids have a knob on top and ridges underneath) so they may also be available wherever you are.
