Judith, those are both wonderful. They don't even look like what I think of as a poncho. Much more fitted and vest like. Of course I'm no style maven

That is beautiful Judith, did you use a pattern? what I mean is your own or a bought one.
I love the high neck and the detail mirrored on the shoulder and all your own handspun - in awe :-)

Thanks for your comments. Ruth - I couldn't think of a word other than Poncho unless it Sack! Carole - My daughter had something similar, so I took some measurements from it and made a rough sketch, then planned around it and changed it a little. Two warps, seamed across the middle as loom is only 24", I intended to take the clasped weft over 2/3 rather than 1/3 and wish I had as much of it is lost in the sleeve. Proving that one should never take advice from a man!!!

I'm with your hubby I really like the clasped weft on one sleeve, the reason being it draws the eye and then it links to the collar area - I love it.

I like them both and not sure what to call them but they don't look like what I think of as a poncho either.

Both of them are lovely, Judith, no matter what you call them.

They are both really great! I love the second one with the shoulder detail. Maybe you've created a new type of garment! Not a ruana, not a vest, not a poncho, not a pullover....it's a ponchovestana!
