I couldn't resist making another diorama with snowmen - the full and frustrating story of its making is in this blog post.

They are so cute, I love that they have minimal details but you know exactly what the story is. Great job Lyn, haven't read the full story yet but glad you made it through the frustration.

Thank you Ruth - I like the minimalism too.
I'm working on a new project that is even more frustrating but I'm like a dog with a bone and I won't let go ... at least not yet!

Fantastic Lyn! I love how they look so engrossed with the job in hand. A super creation and a lovely card for your loved ones.
Oh and I no idea what a diorama was, but I do now!

That’s a great fun diorama! I’m sure young and.old can appreciate it! Although, I’m not looking forward to real snow.

I only like the snow in pictures! Most winters I don't see more than a few flakes of snow - and that suits me fine - but weather forecasters are predicting a 'white-out' in the UK this winter. Doh!
Anyone know who the patron saint of boilers is? I need to say a prayer or two that mine doesn't decide to give me notice this year.

Perhaps it's the same patron saint of wells. We just had to have our well replaced and boy that's pricey.

Great snow men and I love the action of the piece. Oh No Ruth did you have to dig a new one or replace the pump. we had to do the pump and have the pipe brought up to the surface from the bottom of the old dug well and it was very pricy indeed. Lyn A little snow will make you appreciate the rest of the year more.

thank you for sharing your process, I could feel your frustration with moving it forward - I love the end result and the paper chain is genius, as it shows up so well against the background and we can all resonant with making paper chains.

Ann - we had to replace the entire well. So dig it from scratch and it was 500 yards from the house so a big ditch for the feeder pipe and attach to the house etc. I'm sure we'll be paying for the new one for years to come.

Anyone know who the patron saint of boilers is? I need to say a prayer or two that mine doesn't decide to give me notice this year. Apparently the patron saint against cold weather is Saint Sebaldus. Florian (lovely name, better than Sebaldus) is patron saint of soap boilers but not actually of boilers! (It's a slow day at work today - can you tell?!!)

It dried up and wasn't giving hardly any water. We scrimped by with minimal water for the last year and it just kept getting worse.
