not sure about that, but here is what I did with the latest sheet I made last week. It's only partially completed (black embroidery), but I really like the way it is coming out. (Zed, this is a large file, so we'll see how it works out for you.) feltedsilkleaves by pamd8, on Flickr

Absolutely gorgeous! I really like the depth too. Are the silk leaves loose? By that I mean only stitched on the stem end?

Thanks, Judith, Lyn and Ruth.
Ruth, the leaves are felted into the merino. I made the silk leaves just like the step-by-step I put on here the other day. Once it was dry, I cut leaf shapes out of it. I laid out the merino, 3 layers, and added the stem on top, then arranged the leaves. Then I wet the whole thing down and felted it as usual, with maybe just a bit more hand-work than usual for me, before going on with my normal rolling. The stem is black bamboo yarn. The embroidery is purely decorative as I thought it needed a little more contrast to make them stand out.

That big size was just for you, Zed. (I didn't realize that Flickr would accept such large files)
Ruth, I was really thinking they would slip around and move out of place as I felted, but I think the sticky from the stabilizer helped to keep them in place. With all the water, soap and rinsing, all the sticky is gone and it's just nice felt.

I'm not sure of the file limit on flickr, but I know some of mine are around 3mb. Even though I've seen edges stay 'crisp' from silk/fibre papers, I'll probably not be convinced mine work until I try them
