It's been a lovely spring day and I enjoyed a cuppa in my sunny garden this afternoon. The plants and shrubs are colourful so I've hung my latest felt picture in my hallway to try to bring the garden colours inside. It's approx 43x35cm (17"x14") and is a mixture of wet and needle felting.

Gorgeous Lyn! It has me longing for a sunny day in June. What did you use for the yellow flowers? Is it yarn? The gradation of colors in the background really gives it depth.

Very nice Lyn. I too was curious what you used for the yellow flowers.

Wonderful Lyn, yes spill the beans regarding construction! Prefelt lower flowers??

Thank you all - I had fun making this one. Yes, pre-felt lower flowers - doesn't show in the photo, but it's white merino with scrim to give a lovely texture to the petals. Yes, the yellow flowers are made from yarn, teased out and stabbed down. There's other yarn in it too and the white flyaway bits, top right, are snips of scrim. And where would I be without nepps?

I can pick out the scrim on the petals, lovely, as are the chopped up bits. I bought a small amount of dyed scrim a while back and have yet to do something with it.
Yes I really love nepps - when they behave how you want them to!

For the white 'flowers' (top left), I cut the nepps in half (into three or four if they were the big 'uns) and they just melted into the merino during felting.

Cutting nepps into pieces Lyn?? Now that's dedication/determination! Yes it did take a while and it was fiddly - but worth it because the white 'flowers' wouldn't have looked quite right with whole nepps.

Fabulous Lyn. I was guessing the yellow was one of those circular knit yarns but what that the type? I came in late so everyone had asked all my questions already.
