Thank you, Panda! So, the face will take it's time. I've decided to felt a half-circle skirt with a full motive on starting today, finished with all wet-felting and having it dried by Sunday I hope. I'll be using both wet-felting and needle-felting. It'll also allow me to make use of my needle-felting machine from Janome. The machine will make sure the backside won't get too fluffy. Below you can see a sketch of the motive. Each quarter of the skirt is going to show a season of the year. I've only ever made one dress before with the help of a teacher, and it truly ended up nothing like what I had in mind. Let's see if I can pull it off this time!

The process would make a great blog for the forum Stargazer!

I'll document the process and if it's still interesting for you when done I could certainly write about it. Doing some purge and decluttering today, and found this dress that's been used twice in.. 10-15 years. It's time to let it go - or preferably up-cycled into a felted piece. The top-layer is mesh with embroideries, and under there's some kind of super stretchy fabric. Do you clever ladies and gentlemen have some ideas of what I could make out of this? I mean, I know there's a TON you could make, but is there something particular you think this fabric could be a perfect fit for?

The mesh with embroideries could easily be nuno felted in to wool. It could be used for just about anything, notebook covers, handbag, clothing etc.

Beautiful fabric! The mesh will make it easy to felt in. As for the stretchy fabric - maybe use it to line a felt bag/journal cover/etc?

I can see why you would be eager to use that fabric somehow, it is lovely. I go with Ruth and Lyn, notebook cover, or a rectangular shape would make quite an elegant makeup purse I am thinking. It is crying out to be used!

You may want to try some samples. Yes, the mesh will felt nicely, but may give a little distortion to the embroidery, but that’s ok it will probably add interest. So, many possibilities. Have fun!

I think one of those flowers felted onto the side of a hat would be great.

Hi everyone, The skirt has to be remade as it got too thick, again. Three times a charm? So I'm back working on the face. Not a huge difference from last, but she's getting a bit more put together. I finally know what her story will be. Hint: Her earrings are the sun and moon. Still need to make her upper lip a little larger (it should stick out a little further out then the lower lip), add the lower eyelid, and the whole side of her face needs proper shading, along with her neck and shoulder. And her ear... I'm an in total denial that that needs to be done. Anyone got a magic wand?! Thanks for all the ideas on how to use the fabric. Looking forward to use it, I'm taking all suggestions to heart!
