I am attending annual master classes in wetfelting and recently we learned how to create a beehive structured hat. It did not work out very well, a lot of work, too thick felt and irregular shapes. I was disappointed with the result but after dyeing the piece and some cutting here and there it looked like a giant flower and I started to like it. I also started thinking on how it could be done in an easier way and especially to create a thinner felted piece. I succeeded in making a beautiful thin white flower and when I took it with me to the next masterclass my fellow students and the teacher loved it very much and wanted to learn to make it too! So I was giving them a master class in wet felting a thin white flower! How funny that was. You can see the first attempt and the second one via the following link myalbum.com/album/nxNQxGOHQfGMThe last picture is from the thick flower after dyeing and cutting.

Your flower is spectacular. You are very good a figuring things out and then making them work. What where you trying to make with the first one? I can't picture it in my head. Sadly it is as I thought, the term masterclass means nothing.
