I'm new here and hope to find a lot of inspiration, new knowledge (to me) and good vibes from great people here. I've been felting for a while, but still need more practice to achieve the results I've currently dreaming of. It's nice to find a felting forum, and not be tied to a Facebook group. Not really sure what to write, so until I do I'm looking forward to a inspirational time here!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I feel at home! I mostly needlefelt due to the lack of space to really do any wetfelting. It forces you to think differently in many ways. For instance; how do you needle felt a tall vase, a bowl or just a tray with even thickness of the walls, that will keep it's shape and serve it's function? I've found a way, and I'm exploring it's possibilities.
Right now I'm working on sculpting a character from the movie Avatar, the blue people. It's my very first face, but with a excellent help from a youtube video it was easier then excepted. Is it possible to upload images from the computer here?

We can't diretly upload pictures to the forum anymore, we filled our capacity and it was getting too expensive to keep upgrading. We can link to images so they'll show directly in posts, there's a post all about it in the FAQ's I know the lack of space problem! I used to do layouts upstairs in my bedroom, then try to take them downstairs carefully, and only had my draining board plus half a kitchen unit to felt on.

Here is a little something I've needle felted. Not done yet though. This is done with C1 Norwegian wool, and needle felted for a long long time to get a really dense product to prevent the bowl to loose it's shape when in use. Next up is to add a little splash of colors, and maybe a little butterfly sitting on the edge. 100% wool, no wires or anything that will help to keep the structure up. No soap or water has been involved either. I aim to make needle felted designs that are functional in the home.

That is really great, it looks very even and robust, I can see the hours that have gone into it. Yes please post again when you have embellished it more. Excellent pictures.
