My daily dose was making prefelt for my next project. I have never bought or seen commercial prefelt so have no idea of the thickness. How many layers do you all use or can that depend on the use?

I think that depend on how you make it (wet felting or needle felting), what kind of wool and what you'll be using it for. I've only needle felted prefelt for a needle felted project. I used 4 very thin layers of coarse wool, which may sound thick but needed to get anywhere when working with it afterwards.
With wet-felting I reckon you need at least two layers. What about making a few samples to see what works out?

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished Challenge piece, stargazer I've only made two layer prefelt, Tracey. I used it for decoration/design on quite thick pieces.

Stargazer, what a nice sneak peek of your challenge piece!
I make different thicknesses of prefelt but usually 2-3 layers.

Beautiful Stargazer.
i usually use two layers of prefelt, but then that depends on the project and the thickness of the prefelt.

Hi everyone! I could use a little help as I'm not sure what to do... When making this I intended it to be a fast sketch (transforming in an actual piece now) so I didn't draw up any lines to follow. It's all freehand, but that led to the perspective being wrong. The eye look right at you while the rest is slightly turned to the side. I will not change the eye as it took forever, but do you think I should redo the nose, mouth and jawline or just let it be?

Wow, it's great, would straightening up the bottom lip change the perspective for the rest of the face, I think the nose is fine, as are the eyes good luck :-)

Thank you. I am too good at that - worrying. But seriously, the perspective is off and I just needed some advice on if I should accept it as is or change it before I continue.Always aiming to improve

The perspective doesn't look off to me, either. I think you've just done the eyes well so they follow you regardless of where you stand/look at it.
It looks amazing.
