Great colors and I agree with Lyn about the detailed foreground. Looking forward to the added stitching.

It's gorgeous Marion, right on! It will make a great cushion cover and a conversation piece.

Great Marian! I really like the foreground too, and agree with the other ladies on the cushion cover route.

Great picture, Lyn. So full of joy and sun. Free moton stitching makes wonders. Blythwhimsies, beautiful landscape. I don't think the hills need more definition.

I was waiting to do mine in the hopes I'd get some inspiration from others, but I can't imagine making something as nice! We really have to do a blog post featuring all the entries, they're amazing! Well done Jill, Tracey, Jifke, Lyn and Marian, they are all amazingly gorgeous!

Here's my first quarter Fauve piece. This is the 'inspiration' photo off the California coast Fauve_Photo This is my sketch where I worked on the colors. Fauve_Sketch I wanted to try to make this tough enough to hang, so I wanted to lay out a background where the colors didn't get lost. I had some nasty coarse fiber that I bought before I knew better, so I gleefully tried to use it up for the background. Fauve_beginning Here is the layout before felting. Fauve_Layout And after felting. Fauve_Felted It's fairly large (see ruler in last photo), with some thin spots, so I probably need to put it on a backing or in a frame. It really needs some needlework to add interest. That will be a while from now, probably.

Wow! I really adore the colors and boldness of your art work! You might consider lashing it to a blank canvas, either painted or not. In the past, I have sometimes used a cloth backing, and sometimes not. Just depends on the piece. Looking forward to seeing your embellishments!

Fantastic Elizabeth! I'd hang that on my wall any day! I don't think it needs further embellishment as I love it just as it is.
p.s. I love the feet on the stool - I reckon we all do that - you must be a fully paid up member of the felt photography club!

Super, Elizabeth, really strong colours. If you don't feel like sewing I don't think you have to, it stands alone as is.

Wonderful Elizabeth! Try putting your photo into picmonkey.com or photoshop and crop it so you don't see the uneven edges. I think if you crop it that you'll see it doesn't really need anything else. It is a very strong piece that can definitely stand on it's own. Then it could just be put into a frame with matting.
