I wish to embellish a felted case with a small (1-2") thread of hanging beads, what do you suggest I use as the thread please? Is there a particular thing to use, invisible thread maybe, I have no idea.

When I've attached beads to felt I used ordinary sewing thread, but to have hanging beads I would recommend "beading thread" for strength.
I recently made some bead Christmas decorations at a local craft club where all materials were supplied. We used an off-white thread that felt very much like sewing thread - it certainly wasn't fishing-line stuff - but it was incredibly stong.

I have just had a light bulb moment, do you mean the stretchy cord for making bead bracelets?? If so I already have this as I have loads of home made - you've guessed it - bead bracelets......

No, the thread wasn't stretchy at all Tracey. I hope to go to the club again tomorrow night - I'll ask what the thread is when I go.

The book was a one time thing for a course I took. I knew I wasn't going to be doing more beading so I went "over the top" with my one time project. It did take patience and a ton of time.

Thanks. Our class had a showing at my store and we all had our bead books. I had a customer walk up, snatch up my book, practically slam the pages as she looked through it and then ask "How much is it?" I told her 3 million dollars. She says "That's a little much, isn't it?" All my classmates all at once said "NO!!"

Ruth - I love everything about the book and I can see it was a massive project to undertake. I also like the sound of it as it's moved around.

Excellent Lyn, thank you so much. I will see if the craft shops sell it, if not I will order online. Hope you enjoyed craft club. The beaders buy from a local shop so you could be lucky in your locale. For anyone interested, here's what the thread is supposed to be: Developed for beadworkers by Master Beader Sonoko Nozue. This is a nylon thread with strength. It does not shred and tangling is minimized because it is non-clinging. You can use it with Size 10,12 and 13 beading needles.
