I am wondering what people use to edit movies on their PC. The movies on my iPhone are QuickTime movies. Is there a way to convert those to another format? Ruth you said you use the software that came with win 10 Is that the cyberlink power director?

No, it's called Movie Maker. I am not sure if it will convert iPhone movies or not. I don't have an iPhone. I use a regular video recorder which has it's own program. I use that program to cut into the lengths I need. Then I add these pieces together in Movie Maker and add titles, captions etc.

Thanks I didn't think movie maker worked in win 10. I got the cyber link software. I will have to look for it to down load.

I use movie maker. I had a camera which did quicktime years ago, and I think I looked for an editor, found a youtube video which explained either how to download an editor or use 'hidden' settings on the player to edit. I only remember cutting for shorter clips though. Can you not save as a different file type from the settings? Or look for a converter?
There was some format I used years ago, where I used changed the file name to .avi at the end. I don't know if that helps.

I have windows 10 and movie maker works just fine. I think you should be able to save as a different file type as zed suggests.

I will go looking for it. I downloaded a mover maker called video pad. I use photo pad to edit pictures and like it and it's free. I think you can buy it and get more bells and whistles. They have a converter I am going to look at. they have lots of software www.nchsoftware.com/software/index.html
