I've heard it said that if you hang on to all your clothes that they will come into fashion again. I was taught how to crochet in 1970, and I loved doing it so I made dresses, jackets, tops, table centres etc. I even crocheted a tie for my beloved but he refused to wear it. I've just seen that crochet tie kits are on sale...and they are exactly the same as the one I made that was fashionable in 1970. crochet tie kits

That's because what goes around, comes around! Also, another great saying is 'There is nothing new under the sun'. !

I crocheted a lot things but never a tie, that's cool! I don't imagine my husband would have worn one either.

In 1970 we moved out of an apartment with avocado green carpet and appliances to a house with Pink counter-top, sink and appliances - actually the pale pink was better than the avocado to me.

Oh yes Frances - I remember the avocado and pink - they were the 'must have' colours for bathroom suites in the 70's here.
We had a baby blue suite. We weren't very well off so we'd bought the suite from a 'seconds' clearance place and the bath was a different blue to the sink and toilet.

My in-laws still have an avocado kitchen :-( My aunt had a solid-aqua kitchen. It took me decades to get over that color.
When I moved into my house 24 years ago it had a built-in oven, stove, microwave in harvest gold. I did not realize that those colors overlapped the invention of the microwave. It worked quite well for another 10 years. I hate to think of how much radiation I may have received from it :-0

Don't forget the brown. I still don't like the blue they had. I wonder how long before black and stainless steel looks dated.

I'd rather have harvest gold and avocado than the mauve pink or rose of the 80s and 90s, lol.
