Hello everyone, I have been snooping a bit and admiring some of the lovely work on this forum, and also enjoying the encouraging spirit! So I should introduce myself. I've been felting for a few years now, on and off, and I have mainly taught myself from the wealth of stuff on the net (including some of the talented people here), and by trial and error. I like making practical things, and attempting more artistic things too. I also like free motion and hand embroidery on felt. I'm a bit impatient, and often make "quick result" things like cards, but would really like to attempt some more considered work. I would also love to explore incorporating text into my work somehow, because of my love of literature and poetry. Here are some cards I've just made. and a bag. I have a little blog at afeltdesire.blogspot.co.ukI look forward to sharing ideas with you all!

Hi Deb! Welcome to the Forum! Your cards and bag are great. I like the "moody" scenes, as you put it on your blog, in the cards, and the seed heads and beads, too. Really very cool! Attaching the handle to the bag with a knot slipped through the bag is also a good idea. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Deb and welcome to the forum, and as you say, the encouraging spirit here. Wow haven't you been busy over the years?! Love your cards, I must make some more. I have needle felted one mountain scene for a friend, I have only been addicted for a few months. Your seat pads are great too, do you add any padding/backing? Hessian maybe? The air plant pods are excellent too. I need to go back to your blog and digest for longer! Thanks for posting.

Hi there Deb - I really enjoyed looking through your blog and can see/feel the fun you have playing with wool and colours. I particularly love your simple but beautiful sketched seed heads and the fun little pods I also live in Suffolk!

Hi, Deb, and welcome to the Forum! Your work is beautiful. I am also interested in adding text to fiber work but have found it a bit tricky to accomplish. Look forward to sharing ideas with you!

Hi Deb! Welcome to the forum. I love to add machine and hand stitch to my felt work too. I am jealous of your upstairs studio room. It looks wonderful. Please do join in the conversations and show us more of your work

What a warm welcome! I feel as if I have found my felting family! Thank you all so much for the friendly encouragement. I have been having a look at some of the fascinating threads here and realise that it is a mine of ideas and collective wisdom. My main dilemma is how do I drag myself away from all this and actually go and create something??

Very nice stuff, Deb. I particularly like the cream plaid cushion & the seat cushions. & what genius to put a little burlap between grass & sky on that card - it's made the perfect country fence!

Hi Deb, welcome to the forum. Love your cards... But can't view the website as my iPad is throwing a wobbly! I'm in Norfolk ... So round the corner in terms of the geographical coverage of the forum! Will you be coming to the conference in April at Belsey Bridge, near Bungay?
