Hello friends, Before I can tell you the story, you have to know that the word 'felt' is 'vilt' in Holland. We went for our holliday to Scandinaviƫ . When we drove through Sweden, I saw next to the road a great moose (not a live one but an advertising model of a moose) standing next to a cabin. Behind that was also a campground. Next to the moose was an inviting blackboard with the words: Vilt boutique, blablablabla ... Ohw, those two words were enough to take a screeching halt and lets have a look at all the vilt (I read the Dutch word for felt) they would have here !! So, very enthousiastic I walked into the boutique and asked where the vilt was showed ? The two girls looked at each other and explained that there was no meat on tuesday . I was confused....meat? ??.... I still took a look around the corner (I wasn't convinced)... and than...stupid me..all over sudden the quarter fell... cause in Swedish 'vilt' is in Dutch 'wild' (game meat)...omg.. so... all laughing I came back to my hubby and dog.... no 'vilt' today !!

Ha! Mixing languages seems to always lead to funny stories. I had no idea that vilt was anything but felt. I have seen it online many times but only meaning felt.

Shame! Moose felt could have been the next big thing! :-)

Ha, ha. The Swedish word for felt is filt. And yes, vilt means game or wildlife (more specifically, all species of wild mammals or birds). But the dutch word vilt is equally confusing to a Swedish felter. ;-)

Fiber maniacs have the funniest experiences in their quest for the pot of gold. Too funny!
BTW, we say "and then the penny dropped..." You say quarter?
